Jen Walsh

As the Assistant Director for Summer Advising Initiatives, Jen’s main responsibility is to lead, manage, and coordinate the advising components of the SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) program. She co-chairs the Orientation Advising Team (OAT), develops and leads training for professional and student SOAR advising staff, and works closely with the Office of Student Transition and Family Engagement (STFE) to coordinate advising operations for SOAR. Jen has worked in this role since December 2018. Prior to UW-Madison, she led the Student Engagement and Leadership office at Beloit College, and coordinated student leadership programs at Ithaca College. A first-generation college graduate, she earned her master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.
