Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a guiding style of communication that helps people explore their own goals and move toward meaningful change. This approach sits between simply listening and actively giving advice. It’s about being collaborative, asking thoughtful questions, listening with empathy, and supporting others as they make decisions that feel right for them.
In this highly interactive workshop, you will learn how Motivational Interviewing can strengthen your conversations with students, as well as colleagues, supervisees, employers, alumni, and campus partners. The skills you develop will allow you to build trust and support others in taking their next steps with confidence.
Motivational Interviewing is offered multiple times each semester, view upcoming dates and times here.
